Buy Avatar Costume for Halloween

Halloween is coming soon. Are you now thinking about which costumes you should dress up? There are so many characters which you could portray that you just cant have a final decision. What I say here, just buy a avatar cosplay costume or DIY it for your Halloween is not a bad idea.

Winner of three Oscar awards for Best Art Direction, Best Cinematography and for Best Visual Effects, James Cameron's movie Avatar is an epic tale that has captured the hearts and imaginations of the world. This year, trick or treaters and party goers will be wearing their fanaticism on their sleeve (and maybe even on their faces) when they put together their own avatar movie costumes. You can be sure that you will see more than one Avatar at your door!

Depending on the role that you want to play, there are essentially two formats to this costume choice. The first is as a native of Pandora, a Na'vi. The second is as an Avatar, such as the one that Jake Sully becomes while there.

If you are dressing as a Na'vi, you will want to first put on your bodysuit so that you do not ruin it when you try to pull it on later. Braid your hair, or put on your braided hair wig. Put in your cat-eye contact lenses. Then apply blue body paint as a base for your makeup all over your face, neck and down to where the body suit will start to cover. Make sure you remember to paint your ears. When it is dry, you can put the bodysuit back over onto your shoulders. Using a brush, paint black stripes from your crown toward your brows, do the same from the side of your cheeks toward your nose, stopping mid-cheek. Now apply white dots in between the stripes and under the eyes. Apply a pinkish blush for women, a bronze for men, on the cheeks. Then put paper ears onto bobby pins and stick into your hair above your ears. Also make certain to include feathers in your hair.

t takes someone with a strong sense of themselves to carry off the Na'vi costume. You will need to be comfortable with your body and not feel uncomfortable about being the center of attention or having people stare at you. This is partly because the Na'vi costume is mostly "naked" except for the cloth apron which covers the groin. The Na'vi also generally have at least one arm gauntlet, which is for their archery, and also wear necklaces and bracelets.
avatar lovers

f you are going as an Avatar such as Jake Sully, you can make this costume easily. Start by finding a plain pale blue long sleeved shirt that you do not mind destroying. Then you will need a pair of camel colored pants and field jacket and a pair of dark shoes or boots. When it comes to the costume elements, you will want to get a black wig or to braid your hair to get the right look..

Avatar costumes are popular. You can find them at any good costume shop, and may include different elements depending on where you get them. Many include a mask for Jake, however, none are offered for Neytiri. Wigs are a necessity for either.

If you have children who are trick or treating or going to an event, even they can get into the fun of dressing up as their favorite character from the movie. If you are like some parents and dislike the idea of having your child wearing a mask (which restricts visibility) consider using the pointers above on how to paint your face to appear like the Na'vi.

Avatar cosplay costume is very nice. When you dress it, maybe you could become the real Avatar in the reality. Why not you have a try?

Cosplay, Anime and Music

Cosplay is an activity which came from the Western world. However, today this leisure has rightly associated with the cultures of the Orient, and especially with the Japanese anime.

Cosplay is considered to be a type of a performance art. It revolves around costumes, which the participants of cosplay events wear. The costumes are designed to represent a particular character, or an idea. There are many different sources from which cosplayers draw their ideas for characters to portray. In the recent years, with the rise of popularity of J-Pop, and J-Rock, the stars of these musical genres are often the inspiration for cosplayers.

J-Pop is an abbreviation for Japanese pop music. The term came to existence in the 1980s, and had since become common for all kinds of popular music in Japan. Over the years, the stars of J-Pop, and J-Rock have built a specific image. This image included particular haircuts, specific way of wearing makeup, and specific wardrobe. As with many things in the modern Japanese culture, this style of J-Rockers was inspired by the popular Manga and Anime series and characters. That means a lot of spiky hair and colorful wardrobe.

As mentioned, hair is a very important detail for any Japanese music star. It is like that for most of the Japanese artists. Original and unusual hairstyles mean a break with some of the traditions of the Japanese culture. So today, Japanese pop and rock stars fashion original haircuts. As mentioned, these musicians hairstyles are often inspired by fictional characters from popular culture. And as cosplayers use J-Rock stars as an inspiration for their costumes, they indirectly imitate these fictional characters. This shows how influential is the Manga and Anime art in the Japanese culture.
Also, J-Rock stars are often featuring gothic look, so this is a style cosplayers often try to replicate. Bands like Malice Mizer, and its stars Mana and Közi are the ones that are often an inspiration for cosplayers who like the gothic style of dressing and wearing makeup.

The wardrobe featured by J-Rock stars is also a source of joy for cosplayers, as these colorful outfits provide them hours of work on their favorite hobby: creating costumes for cosplay.

And although some of the official cosplay event don't accept people who are cosplaying J-Rock stars, J-Rock and J-Pop continues to be an inspiration for cosplayers, and more and more of them are deciding for just this type of cosplaying

All in all, cosplay has been an activity which mix Japanese anime, Japanese Music together. There are tons of craze for it, that is not strange.

Upsurge of Cosplay

This is my first article about cosplay. As an avid cosplayer, I guess I have the obligation to introduce this special leisure for you.

Cosplay is a youth subculture originating in Japan. The moniker is derived from the words "costume" and "play", and is believed to have been first thought up in 1984 by a Japanese studio executive named Nov Takahashi. When he wrote for Japanese science fiction magazines about the impressive costumes worn by attendees at the Los Angeles World Science Fiction Convention, he gradually adopted the portmanteau term cosplay, which is used to describe the trend today.

The main feature of cosplay is that participants enjoy dressing up as their favorite characters from anime, comic books, and video games. It has developed to include, particularly when adopted in the west, people dressing up as characters from popular non-Asian fantasy and science fiction movies and games, such as Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Doctor Who and World of Warcraft.

As a fashion concept, cosplay has also been seen to extend towards a style of dressing up not only as established, famous characters, but as characters that the enthusiast has developed themselves. This is often a crossover into the Japanese Lolita style of dress, where girls wear a distinctive, cute style. This allows girls who like the look but do not want to fully adopt the Lolita style as street dress to enjoy the less serious "Cosplay Lolita" style at cosplay events and venues.
so cute

Additional trends and sub-genres in cosplay include "crossplay", which involves wearing the costume of a character of the opposite sex, and participants called "dollars", who wear full body suits and masks to play characters without their own faces on show, rather like sports mascots.

Cosplay is usually something that takes place at parties, concerts, conventions and venues where likeminded people meet to show off their (often hand crafted) costumes, socialize, and photograph other enthusiasts. The most popular area for these kind of activities is the fashionable Harajuku area of Tokyo. In the district of Akihabara, a number of cosplay themed cafes have been opened during the last decade to cater to the cosplayers, and the staff all wear anime themed costumes themselves.
Twice a year, hundreds of thousands of cosplayers flock to Tokyo to visit the Comiket convention and market - the largest event in the world for cosplay enthusiasts.

The concept of dressing up and of taking part in role play based around popular characters also exists in the west, where cosplay style outfits are worn to attend science fiction and comic book conventions. The largest of these is held annually in San Diego.
